The City of Mandan, North Dakota is currently accepting applications for the position of:

Building & Grounds Worker - Grade 9

Position Details:

Salary starting at $18.01/hour

Status: Part-Time/Non-Exempt (up to 19 hours/week)

Department: Public Works

Closing Date: August 2nd, 2024 (End of day)

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for a variety of maintenance duties for various city buildings, facilities, and structures.

Major Duties:

Empties trash receptacles and replaces liners; empties recyclables containers.

Sweeps and mops floors; vacuums carpeted areas and rugs; buffs floors.

Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, water fountains, light switches, doors, and door handles;

Restocks bathroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and maintains inventory of supplies.

Cleans glass windows and doors.

Dusts and cleans surfaces.

Cleans breakroom.

Sets up rooms for meetings; installs and moves furniture.

Waters and cares for plants.

Changes light bulbs.

Removes snow and ice from walkways.

Weeds flower beds; prunes trees and shrubs.

Mows city lawns; applies herbicides and pesticides; trims weeds.

Raises and lowers flags.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.

Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
